Jeremy Nichols

about the artist

Jeremy Nichols is a Portland-based muralist, illustrator, and printmaker whose work is deeply influenced by street art and large-scale public painting. Born in Japan and raised in Columbus, Ohio, Jeremy earned a BFA in Printmaking before eventually moving to Portland in 2008, where he has worked as a full-time artist ever since.

Jeremy’s creative practice spans murals, illustration, and street-inspired artwork, often using spray paint as his primary medium. His work is shaped by the energy of the streets and the community of artists around him, drawing inspiration from fellow creatives and public art culture.

poster

Jeremy’s 2026 Pickles poster takes the team’s identity back to its roots, literally, drawing from his own experience making pickles to create something personal, strange, and quietly funny.

At the center of the composition is a jar packed with wide-eyed pickles, all suspended in brine like they’ve been caught mid-thought. Some stare outward, others seem mildly concerned, turning a simple preservation process into a character-driven scene full of subtle personality.

The design leans into the textures and details of pickling, the seeds, the spices, the glass jar itself, grounding the piece in something real while still embracing the absurd. Baseballs peek into the frame, tying the scene back to the game, but the focus stays on the pickles and their oddly expressive presence.

Like the Pickles themselves, the poster doesn’t try to be too polished or serious. It’s a little weird, a little deadpan, and unexpectedly charming. Finding humor in the everyday and turning it into something memorable.

Jeremy’s Pickles collection draws inspiration from a surprisingly personal place: his own history of making pickles.

Having spent time pickling vegetables himself, Jeremy leaned into the process and culture of pickling as the central theme of the design. The idea allowed him to connect directly with the Pickles’ identity while bringing in humor and creativity rooted in everyday experiences.

Just like the team itself, the design embraces the weird, fun personality that makes the Pickles such a unique part of Portland’s summer sports scene.
